Executive
Membership Committee
description:
The Membership Committee is in charge of keeping the current list of Branch,
Officer and committee members. They also promote NE AALAS and encourage AALAS
involvement of others in the animal research community. The committee shall
accept applications for membership to the Nebraska Branch. They are also
responsible for approving or rejecting the application for membership to the
Nebraska Branch
Program Committee
description:
The Program Committee is in charge of lining up a program for the meetings
through out the year by obtaining speakers, location for the meetings, and
ordering/making of food and beverages. This committee is also responsible for
setting up social activities for the association.
Nominations/Elections
Committee description:
The Nominations/Elections Committee is responsible for obtaining nominations for
the Executive Committee. It is also responsible for calling the nominees to
confirm they accept their nominations, making and sending of the elections
ballot, counting of all returned ballots and informing the members of the
results of the election.
Publicity Committee
description:
The Publicity Committee is in charge of lining of receiving information that
would be beneficial to the NE AALAS members and distributing to the NE AALAS
members by newsletter or placing on the NE AALAS website.
Arrangements
Committee descriptions:
The Arrangements Committee is in charge of the annual banquet held every fall.
Responsibilities include finding a location of the banquet, deciding of the
menu, writing letters to vendors for donations, and helping to get door prizes.
Awards Committee
description:
The Awards Committee is responsible in notifying the membership to nominate NE
AALAS members for the awards offered by the association. After receiving
nominations for the awards this committee determines the winners of these
awards. The committee is also responsible for getting the plaques made for each
award winner.
